Carolina Caring, a leading provider of serious illness care in Western North Carolina, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Physician to join our well-respected team. This position offers the opportunity to practice meaningful medicine in a supportive, interdisciplinary environment while making a lasting impact on patients and families during their most vulnerable moments.

Position Highlights:

  • Monday- Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm schedule, with one night per week of call
  • Onsite rounding across our three 6-bed hospice houses located in: Dallas, Sherrills Ford and Newton
  • Supervisory role of our House Calls Program APPs
  • 4-6 Call Weekends per year(includes phone triage and in-person rounds).
  • Serve as an integral member of an interdisciplinary team that includes experienced nurses, chaplains, and social workers.
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered end-of-life care with the support of an established organization recognized both locally and regionally.

Qualifications:

  • BC in a Primary Care specialty (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or similar).
  • BC in Hospice and Palliative Medicine preferred but not required; if not fellowship trained, strongly recommend obtaining Hospice Medical Director Certification within two years of employment
  • Ability to travel to all three inpatient locations is required 
  • A passion for hospice care and commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration
