The Staff Physician III at the Lufkin State Supported Living Center (SSLC) plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality medical services to individuals with intellectual disabilities. This position involves diagnosing and treating individuals with complex medical, psychiatric, and behavioral health needs, as well as overseeing the implementation of health care plans.

  • Diagnose and treat individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Develop health care plans with measurable goals and interventions
  • Advocate for individuals' medical needs and collaborate with healthcare professionals

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide acute and chronic care, including medication reviews and prescribing
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and interdisciplinary planning conferences
  • Ensure accurate and timely medical documentation

Your Qualifications:

  • Medical doctor licensed in Texas
  • Experience in clinical work and leading teams
  • Knowledge of ICF-IID standards and healthcare regulations
