Staff Psychiatrist Opportunity at Big Spring State Hospital

We are seeking a Lead Psychiatrist to join our team at Big Spring State Hospital. As the Lead Psychiatrist, you will play a crucial role in conducting advanced psychiatric assessments, diagnosing, and treating patients under the direction of the State Hospital Medical Director. Here are some key responsibilities:

  • Administer quality specialized psychiatric treatments and procedures
  • Review system data to ensure individualized recovery plans
  • Lead discussions to drive necessary changes and implementation plans
  • Participate in State Hospital committees and performance improvement activities

As the Lead Psychiatrist, you will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide person-centered care, develop recovery plans, and ensure quality psychiatric services. Your role will involve:

  • Establishing physician-patient relationships
  • Collaborating with other medical professionals for comprehensive care
  • Reviewing and analyzing medical records
  • Participating in clinical audits and performance reviews
  • Maintaining communication with hospital staff for continuity of care

Key Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.)
  • Unrestricted Texas medical license and board certification in Psychiatry
  • Minimum three years' experience as a psychiatrist
  • Experience working with individuals with psychiatric disorders
