Mercy Health – Perrysburg Hospital is actively recruiting a Fellowship-trained Breast Surgeon who is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery (ABS) and passionate about delivering comprehensive, patient-centered breast cancer care. This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in the continued development and expansion of a thriving multidisciplinary Oncology Program within one of Ohio’s largest healthcare systems.
As a dedicated breast surgeon, you will have the support, mentorship, and robust clinical infrastructure to provide high-quality care to the Northwest Ohio community. Position Highlights:
- Outpatient Focused Practice: Provide comprehensive breast surgical care in a well-established ambulatory oncology setting, including in-person and virtual visits.
- Surgical Expertise: Perform outpatient and inpatient breast procedures, surgeries, and inpatient rounding.
- Consultative Services: Provide inpatient consultations and participate in post-operative call coverage as needed (low call burden).
- Education & Teaching: Actively engage in resident education through didactics, clinical instruction, rounding, and journal clubs. Direct involvement with General Surgery residents.
- Leadership Opportunity: Eligible to serve as Medical Director for the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), helping lead quality improvement and program growth initiatives.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work alongside Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Breast Navigators, Genetic Counselors, Dietitians, Social Workers, and APCs to provide holistic patient care.
Practice & Schedule Details:
- Weekly Schedule:
- 2 clinic days (starting at 7:30–8:00 AM)
- 3 surgical days per week
- Willingness to provide post-op call coverage as needed
- 5–8 hour workdays with occasional extended hours based on patient/call needs
- Setting:
- Primary location: Mercy Health – Perrysburg Hospital
- May support nearby hospitals based on market need
- 100% adult and geriatric population
- Referral-based practice with established volumes
- Comprehensive Cancer Center Onsite:
- Includes 5 Medical Oncologists, 2 Radiation Oncologists, and multiple Advanced Practice Providers
- Ancillary services include Breast Oncology & Imaging Navigators, Genetics, Nutrition, and Behavioral Health
- Access to multidisciplinary tumor boards and breast cancer clinic
