The Site Medical Director (SMD) is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hospitalist service line at Baylor Scott & White Sunnyvale. In this role, the SMD will lead a team of hospitalists, ensuring the highest standard of patient care, while fostering collaboration among multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of clinical expertise and leadership experience to help drive performance improvement, enhance patient outcomes, and maintain operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the hospitalist team at Baylor Scott & White Sunnyvale, including recruitment, development, and performance management.
- Provide clinical oversight and ensure high-quality patient care across the hospitalist service line.
- Collaborate with nursing, administration, and other medical specialties to optimize patient flow and outcomes.
- Review and analyze clinical data to identify trends, implement best practices, and ensure adherence to quality metrics.
- Collaborate with the Regional Medical Director and other leadership to drive strategic goals and operational initiatives for the hospitalist service.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, education, and patient safety within the hospitalist team.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, hospital policies, and safety protocols.
- Participate in hospital committees, meetings, and quality improvement initiatives, as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine
- At least 5 years of experience in hospitalist practice, with a strong background in clinical leadership or management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and patient-centered care.
- Proven history of successful team management and operational leadership in a healthcare setting.
- Must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Texas.
