Job Description

Survivorship/ High Risk Clinic Job Summary

BSWH is seeking a BC/BE Physician to join our Survivorship/High Risk Clinic at the Outpatient Cancer Center in Round Rock, Texas. This is a career opportunity with a generous benefits package. It offers work-life balance, a competitive salary, productivity bonus, moving allowance, and no state income tax.

We are looking for a team player with a good work history. The ideal candidate should focus on quality. They should partner with physicians, agencies, and professionals to provide excellent patient care in our award-winning health care system.

This autonomous physician may be a Family Physician (FP), Internal Medicine (IM), or Medical Oncologist and will address the medical and psychosocial needs of the patients offering a comprehensive approach to care management. The physician will work with a PSS and RN to launch the clinic, and, with growth, an APP will join the physician.

The vision of the Survivorship/ High Risk Clinic is to provide high level care for a variety of patients recovering from, or at elevated risk of developing, cancer. The intent is to offset clinical volumes of cancer patients/potential cancer patients to enable oncologists to focus upon the needs of acutely ill cancer patients, rather than those who require surveillance or workups.

The goals of the clinic are to provide medical oversight to the following patient types:

  • Cancer patients who have completed active treatment and/or require annual follow-up – aka “Survivors.”
  • Patients new to GAR, not active treatment, need to establish with an oncologist.
  • Patients with a family history of cancer requiring genetic testing and/or surveillance.
  • Patients who participate in the “Multicancer Early Detection Clinical Trial.”

  • EMR: EPIC

  • Outpatient Only
  • Location: BSWH Cancer Center, Round Rock, Texas
  • Standard Hours - The department will consider part-time or full-time hourly status.
