Lead Psychiatrist Opportunity at Austin State Hospital

We are seeking a Lead Psychiatrist to join our team at Austin State Hospital. As the Lead Psychiatrist, you will play a crucial role in providing highly advanced psychiatric assessment and treatment to our patients. Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and administering specialized treatments
• Developing individualized recovery plans and ensuring their implementation
• Collaborating with the Recovery Team and leading discussions to drive necessary changes
• Participating in committees and performance improvement activities
• Supervising and guiding the work of multidisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities:

• Establishing physician-patient relationships and providing effective medication management
• Developing and implementing person-centered recovery plans
• Collaborating with other medical professionals to enhance psychiatric care
• Reviewing and monitoring system data to improve the quality of care
• Maintaining communication with the Medical Director and other staff members

Requirements:

• MD or DO with an unrestricted Texas medical license
• Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a psychiatrist
• Experience working with individuals with psychiatric disorders
