The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Louisville is seeking a full-time academic Clinical Pathologist to join a team of accomplished and collaborative faculty committed to excellence in clinical service, education, and scholarship. This position offers some flexibility in scheduling and may be filled at 0.8 to 1.0 FTE. Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and academic achievements.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality diagnostic services in clinical pathology and contribute actively to the department’s academic mission. Fellowship training or a strong background in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine, Clinical Chemistry, Informatics, Microbiology, Molecular Pathology, or Hematopathology. Prior experience in an academic medical center and service as a CLIA Laboratory Director are also desirable, as is a record of scholarly activity, including peer-reviewed publications or quality improvement initiatives.
Several potential leadership opportunities in the clinical laboratories, including service as medical, CLIA, or section director exist.
Educational responsibilities will include teaching medical students, residents, and fellows in both didactic and clinical settings. The department values a strong commitment to medical education and a collaborative approach to academic engagement.

UofL Health is a fully integrated regional academic health system with 9 hospitals, 4 medical centers, a cancer center, eye institute, and more than 250 physician practice locations, largely concentrated in the Louisville metro area. The successful candidate will be adept at navigating complex healthcare settings and services delivered at multiple locations.
