The Department of Neurology at the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians (M Physicians) is seeking a full-time, neuromuscular medicine-certified neurologist with a subspecialty interest in ALS research and care.
Clinical & Research Balance:
Approximately 30% effort dedicated to leading neuromuscular clinical research within an established clinical and translational research program.
Opportunities to collaborate on clinical trials, biomarker development, and other academic activities with innovative neuroscience physicians and researchers.
Outpatient Clinical Services (University campus & community clinics):
ALS multidisciplinary clinic
General neuromuscular clinic
EMG and neuromuscular ultrasound
Inpatient Duties:
Limited inpatient call coverage expected
Academic Involvement:
Supervise and train medical students, residents, and fellows
Ideal Candidate:
Experience in neuromuscular research, existing funded research, and research expertise (MD PhD or MD MPH encouraged to apply)
Graduate of an accredited Neurology residency training program
Board Certified or Board Prepared with the American Board of Medical Specialties or American Osteopathic Association
Completion of a Neuromuscular Fellowship Program
Eligible for Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure
Ability to obtain and maintain DEA certification in Minnesota
Meets threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges
Excellent teaching and interpersonal skills

Salary:
Total salary is market competitive and based on AAMC salary benchmarks
Clinical salary aligned with clinical effort through M Physicians
Base salary range: $218,757 – $344,326 (commensurate with experience, qualifications, and cFTE)
University salary dependent upon academic effort
