  • Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 - 5:00PM with some on call shifts

Requirements

  • Demonstrated specialty expertise, clinical competence, and teaching skills, with documented experience in education and administration.

  • ABMS-certified or possess equivalent qualifications approved by the Graduate Medical Education Committee.

  • In good standing on the medical staff with an unrestricted Michigan medical license.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

A typical day may include:

  • Provide guidance, instruction, and supervision to assigned residents to support the achievement of the educational objectives of the residency program.

  • Participate in evaluating residents’ educational and clinical performance using established forms and methods as directed by the Program Director.

  • Collaborate with the Program Director to assess and enhance the residency curriculum, contributing to continuous program improvement.

  • Engage in faculty development activities, including continuing medical education, to maintain and advance teaching skills.

  • Foster a learning environment that encourages inquiry, scholarship, and professional growth, including active participation in conferences, research projects, and formal teaching sessions.

  • Assist the Program Director in ensuring compliance with residency program policies and procedures, including adherence to resident work hour limitations and patient assignment protocols.

  • Advise the Program Director and Site Medical Director on program resource requirements, including equipment, educational materials, and other support needed to optimize resident training.
