The incumbent's primary assignment is to provide behavioral health services to patients throughout the facility to include Outpatient Clinics, Inpatient Units, Primary Care, Emergency Department and to the Substance Abuse Post Traumatic Stress and Community Day Programs.The incumbent is expected to possess a high degree of knowledge which includes mastery of diagnosing as defined by the Diagnostic Statistical Manual for Psychiatric Disorders (DSM), treatment interventions, medications effects/side effects and mastery of the theories, principals, concepts and methodologies acquired through education and practice.FUNCTIONS OR SCOPE OF ASSIGNED DUTIES:

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount up to $200,000 & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
