Sinai Chicago is Looking for a FT Out-Patient Spanish Speaking Psychiatrist

Job Description

Sinai Chicago is seeking a compassionate, mission-driven Spanish-speaking Psychiatrist to join our Behavioral Health team. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing high-quality, culturally competent psychiatric care to a diverse patient population, with a particular focus on serving Spanish-speaking communities across Chicago’s West and Southwest sides.

The Psychiatrist will work in an interdisciplinary environment across inpatient, outpatient, or consultation-liaison settings depending on expertise and interest. This role supports Sinai Chicago’s mission of providing exceptional healthcare to underserved populations and addressing the social determinants of health.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment plans for patients in outpatient settings
  • Deliver evidence-based care including medication management and psychotherapy
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including psychologists, therapists, social workers, and primary care providers
  • Conduct consultations in medical-surgical units as needed
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer reviews, and clinical education
  • Document all encounters in a timely and thorough manner in the EMR
  • Engage with Spanish-speaking patients and families in their preferred language to ensure understanding and compliance with treatment plans
  • Contribute to Sinai’s mission of health equity, community service, and culturally competent care

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry Residency program
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Active Illinois medical license (or eligibility to obtain)
  • DEA license with schedule II-V certification
  • Fluent in Spanish (required)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to serving underserved populations
  • Experience in community health or public hospital settings is preferred
