About the Opportunity
Beaufort Memorial is excited to bring Emergency Department services in-house and is seeking Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physicians to join our growing, high-performing team.
Highlights include:
- Work alongside a collaborative team of Emergency Medicine Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers
- Shift lengths: 10- and 12-hour shifts
- 2.0 patients/hour average with a broad and diverse case mix
- Full scope of emergency medicine with proficiency in all ER procedures required
- 24/7 in-house support from Anesthesia, Pediatric Hospitalists, and Hospitalists
- Trauma surgery available on call
- Access to a wide range of specialties, including Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Neurology, ENT, GI, Nephrology, General Surgery, and Vascular Surgery
- Intensivist coverage 7A–7P; Hospitalists cover ICU overnight with intensivist backup on call
- FAST Track available for ESI 3–5 patients
- Employed and 1099 options available

Position Requirements
- Familiarity with the evaluation and management of a wide spectrum of acute illnesses, injuries, and disorders
- Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and perform emergency procedures
- Demonstrated proficiency in minor and advanced emergency medicine procedures
Education & Training:
- M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency
Licensure & Certification:
- Current, unrestricted South Carolina medical license (M.D. or D.O.)
- Active state and federal controlled substance licenses
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM). Candidates board certified in Internal Medicine (ABIM) or Family Medicine (ABFM) with substantial Emergency Medicine experience will also be considered.
