The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Henry Ford Health invites applications for a full-time academic faculty position in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery within the Henry Ford Medical Group. The ideal candidate will contribute to clinical care, teaching, scholarly activity, and service within the department and across the health system. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to work in a collaborative academic environment, helping train the next generation of Oral & Maxillofacial surgeons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive oral and maxillofacial surgical care.
  • Supervise and mentor Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residents, dental students, and learners in otolaryngology, general surgery, and plastic & reconstructive surgery.
  • Maintain high standards of patient care and safety in all clinical activities.
  • Participate in the didactic and clinical education of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residents, dental students, and learners in otolaryngology, general surgery, and plastic & reconstructive surgery.
  • Prepare and deliver lectures, seminars, and hands-on workshops.
  • Serve as a mentor for residents and students, providing guidance on clinical, academic, and career development.
  • Engage in scholarly activities including clinical and translational research, publications, and presentations at local, regional, and national conferences.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the Oral & Maxillofacial surgery program and curriculum.
  • Assist in the teaching program’s administration, including admissions, accreditation, and the evaluation process of learners.

Requirements:

Candidates considered for the position must Board Certified within 3 years by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (ABOMS) and must be able to secure an unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the state of Michigan.
