  • Competitive Compensation: We are committed to offering competitive compensation packages. Upon joining the Wake Forest Health Network, providers receive a competitive base salary and are also eligible for annual incentive bonuses tied to high productivity performance.

Job Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive outpatient care for patients with a wide range of eye-related conditions. Responsibilities include performing routine eye exams, assessing visual acuity and eye coordination, prescribing corrective lenses, and managing symptoms such as redness, discharge, and inflammation. The role also involves taking detailed medical histories, educating patients on proper eye care and hygiene, and identifying environmental or occupational factors that may impact vision. When necessary, the Optometrist will refer patients to ophthalmologists for advanced care. This position is part of a collaborative team in a well-equipped clinic that includes ophthalmologists, ophthalmic assistants, and an onsite optical shop.

Education Requirements:

  • Successful completion of accredited Medical School with an MD or DO
  • Successful completion of Ophthalmology residency 
  • Board Certification by the American Board of Ophthalmology (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Valid medical license to practice in the state of employment.
  • Subspecialty fellowship training (optional but preferred for roles requiring expertise in areas such as retina, cornea, glaucoma, pediatrics, or oculoplastics).
