Lead Psychiatrist Opportunity at San Angelo State Supported Living Center

We are seeking a dedicated Lead Psychiatrist to join our team at the SSLC. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing advanced psychiatric care under the direct supervision of the SSLC Medical Director. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Directing and overseeing psychiatric examinations, diagnoses, and treatments
  • Administering specialized psychiatric treatments and procedures
  • Providing leadership to ensure high-quality psychiatric services for patients
  • Participating in patient Interdisciplinary Team meetings and guiding treatment plans
  • Supervising other Psychiatrists and clinic staff

As the Lead Psychiatrist, you will also be involved in conducting psychiatric clinics, reviewing medication effectiveness, and collaborating with medical specialists for comprehensive patient care. Your role will require:

  • Regular attendance and participation in clinical meetings and reviews
  • Monitoring and addressing trends in psychiatric care quality
  • Engaging in peer review committees for performance improvement
  • Providing guidance on treatment plans and interventions tailored to individual needs
  • Staying current with psychiatric research and treatment protocols

To qualify for this position, you must have a medical doctor license in Texas, be Board Certified or eligible in Psychiatry, and have at least three years of psychiatry experience. Experience with mental illness and intellectual disabilities is preferred.
