Renown Health, Northern Nevada's largest and only not-for-profit healthcare network, is seeking to hire Trauma Surgeon to join our growing Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma. Incumbent will be practicing in the region’s busiest full-service Level II Trauma Center and Regional Transfer Center serving a catchment area of over 900,000. This position will have medical directorship opportunities for consideration.
Ideal Candidate will have completed a General Surgery Residency and Fellowship in Trauma and Critical Care or Acute Care Surgery.
Core Responsibilities will include being a productive and participating member of the Department of Surgery Renown Medical Group under the leadership of the Chair of Surgery, Vice Chair of Surgery and Division Chiefs for Trauma and Critical Care.
The Trauma Surgeon will work closely and in cooperation with the management staff, directs comments and questions to the appropriate management person and follows administrative policies. The Surgeon actively participates in physician governance meetings, management decisions, and follows policies adopted by Renown Health and its medical staff. The Trauma Surgeon is expected to stay abreast of current advances in medicine by reviewing recent publications, attending in-services and educational meetings, and attending continuing medical education programs in the appropriate field.
Renown Health and the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med) are affiliate partners in Nevada's first integrated academic health system. The affiliation aims to improve the health of the community, region, and state through research, medical education, and expanded clinical care. Renown physicians participate as joint faculty at UNR Med for teaching, lectures, supervising clinical rotations, and other academic activities for the education of medical and physician assistant students, residents and fellows.
