Physician Opportunity at Abilene State Supported Living Center

We are seeking a dedicated Staff Physician to join the team at the Abilene State Supported Living Center. As a Staff Physician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality medical services to individuals with intellectual disabilities. Your responsibilities will include:

• Diagnosing and treating individuals with complex medical, psychiatric, and behavioral health needs
• Developing health care plans with measurable goals and objectives
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to advocate for individuals' medical needs
• Monitoring and overseeing the implementation of health care plans
• Providing acute and chronic care, including medication management
• Participating in treatment team meetings and interdisciplinary planning conferences
• Ensuring compliance with medical standards and regulations

To excel in this role, you should have a medical degree, experience in clinical practice, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. HHSC’s Health and Specialty Care System has nine state psychiatric hospitals (with more expansion planned) and a residential unit dedicated to adolescents.
