General Radiologist

Established, independent practice with over 50 years of continuous service in central Maine seeks a general radiologist due to retirements and expanding volume.

This employed partnership track position offers well above average compensation and time off. X-Ray Professional Association (XPA) is a democratic and collegial group with equal call, input on group decisions, and 100% pension vesting from day one. $50,000 signing bonus. Track length and compensation are commensurate with experience. Total package for year one is up to $600k that includes relocation, pension and other benefits, along with 10 weeks off depending on experience. Total partner package is expected to average over $750k with approximately 16-18 weeks off.

The group consists of eight fellowship-trained radiologists who cover general, mammography, vascular and nonvascular IR procedures. The ideal candidate would have an interest in working at our breast center and be capable of nonvascular interventional procedures such as biopsy and drain placement, lumbar punctures and joint injections. A current fellow or practicing radiologist could both fit well with our needs.

We are based at Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC) in Lewiston and provide coverage to two smaller hospitals. CMMC is a tertiary care center and is the 3rd largest hospital in Maine, with state of the art facilities in all areas including a newly built cancer center.

The main hospital is half an hour to the coast which is where most of our radiologists live, and is also an hour away from the western Maine mountains.

Bridgton Region: Bridgton is a town in Cumberland County, Maine; a resort area in Maine’s Lake Region and home to Bridgton Academy, a private preparatory school. The town is nestled among many of the state’s most scenic lakes and offers a variety of year-round outdoor recreation activities, as well as easy access to some of the area’s most significant historical and cultural sites, as well as the Atlantic coast beaches. Ski enthusiasts, in particular, will love this area for its ski slopes –these unique ski slopes, created by the townspeople in the 1930’s, spell the word “LOVE”.

Rumford Region: A beautiful, rural area, the town is located in west-central Maine’s Oxford County and is surrounded by forests, mountains, rivers, and lakes. This area boasts many recreational opportunities for boating, swimming and fishing; and it’s also home to the largest waterfall east of Niagara. The business district of the town is located on “The Island” located between the Androscoggin River and the canals. The Island features restaurants and retail stores along with the local government offices, Post Office and banking institutions.
