The Duke Department of Surgery is seeking a BE/BC general surgeon with fellowship training in minimally invasive surgery. A focus on general MIS surgery, experience with spinal exposures and/or hernia specialist is a plus. This position is not aligned with the bariatric surgery program. 

  • Acute Care Surgery call, 2-3 times/month, at Duke Raleigh Hospital will also be an expectation of this position for night time and occasional weekend coverage.
  • Candidate will be joining two other surgeons in Raleigh and will be taking over an established practice for a long-time community surgeon who is retiring.
  • Candidate will be joining the Division of MIS with 14 surgeons. Academic rank will be based on individual qualifications, with research and clinical productivity measures used to guide clinical track. An interest in clinical research is encouraged. 
  • This position is open to applicants at all academic levels (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor).
  • This position would be based primarily at Duke Raleigh Hospital, with a potential opportunity to have a clinical presence at Duke University Hospital.
