Ophthalmologist
Sinai Chicago is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Ophthalmologist to join our growing healthcare team. As a key member of our hospital’s medical staff, you will provide comprehensive eye care to patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide variety of eye conditions and diseases, and a commitment to serving our diverse patient population.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough eye exams and assessments, diagnosing a wide range of eye conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and more.
- Perform surgical procedures as necessary, such as cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, and other ophthalmologic procedures.
- Provide patient education on eye health, preventative care, and treatment options.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations and standards.
- Participate in departmental meetings, educational activities, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in ophthalmology and integrate new techniques into clinical practice.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Ophthalmology.
- Active and unrestricted Illinois medical license or eligibility for licensure in Illinois.
- Strong clinical knowledge and proficiency in both surgical and non-surgical ophthalmologic treatments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative healthcare environment.
- Commitment to high-quality care and continuous professional development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fellowship training in a subspecialty of ophthalmology is preferred, but not required.
- Experience with underserved and diverse populations.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish, Polish, etc.) are a plus.
