The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Duke University School of Medicine invites applications for board-certified/board-eligible Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists to lead a new Pediatric Partial Hospital Program (PHP).

Position Highlights:

  • Lead the new Duke Pediatric Partial Hospital Program (PHP) in collaboration with:
    • Division of Child and Family Mental Health and Community Psychiatry
    • Duke Children’s Hospital
  • Oversee a 16-bed PHP serving:
    • Children ages 6–11
    • Adolescents ages 12+
  • Provide direct clinical care, program development and oversight
  • Teach and mentor medical students, general psychiatry residents, and child/adolescent psychiatry fellows
  • Hold a faculty appointment with rank commensurate with experience

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in pediatric hospital settings or PHP settings
  • Leadership experience, ideally as a pediatric psychiatry consult-liaison physician

Primary Activities:

  • Deliver individual- and team-based clinical care at the Duke Pediatric PHP
  • Conduct medical and interdisciplinary evaluations and interventions
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team, including:
    • Child and adolescent psychiatrists
    • Pediatric psychologists
    • Social workers
    • Nurses
    • Trainees
  • Engage in and receive support for scholarly activities
