We’re building on our strong foundation of clinical expertise to expand cancer services across the state of Washington and we’re looking for excellent clinicians to join our growing team. As a physician supporting our growing practices, you will have access to fully established cancer programs with the following features:
Our programs are accredited by the multidisciplinary Commission on Cancer (CoC) — a program of the American College of Surgeons that recognizes cancer care programs for their commitment to providing comprehensive, high-quality and multidisciplinary, patient-centered care.
A leader in pancreatic cancer for more than 40 years, our pancreatic cancer survival rates are double the national average, as reported by the National Cancer Institute’s Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results Program. We are the only Pancreatic Cancer Center of Excellence in Washington state (certified by the National Pancreas Foundation). This designation signifies that we offer the latest, most advanced options for treating this disease.
As the first program in Seattle to receive accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC), our Colorectal Cancer Program outperforms the national median in adhering to CoC best-practice standards, according to recent data from the National Cancer Database.
Breast cancer quality metrics at VMFH exceed national benchmarks determined by the CoC and the National Quality Forum (NQF). We are also recognized as one of only two programs in both Pierce and King counties to be accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) for our breast programs at St. Joseph Medical Center and St. Anthony Hospital.
We care for the most esophageal cancer patients in the western United States, and seventh most nationally, according to the CoC.
Rare neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are diagnosed and treated here. We use a radio tracer called the Gallium-68 Dotatate scan to fully understand your condition.
VMFH is the only system in the Pacific Northwest that offers GammaTile, a new technology that allows for intraoperative radiation treatment of brain tumors.
