ED Leadership opportunity:
IES two-year Emergency Medicine Administrative Fellowship program at OakBend Medical Center’s three ERs located in Richmond and Wharton Texas. The selected Administrative Fellow is assigned the Associate Medical Director role and collaborates with the IES VP of Workforce Development and Regional Medical Director. This is a structured two-year program that includes a monthly stipend, 30 hours per month of administrative work and training, and 90 clinical hours. This W2 position includes a comprehensive benefits package from day one. The fellowship is an immersive program that provides hands-on training with hospital and emergency department leaders, as well as formal classroom learning. The objective of this unique opportunity is to provide the skills and experience to lead a team in the Emergency Department while practicing medicine.

About: Oak Bend Medical Center in Richmond, TX:
OakBend Medical Center (OBMC) is a non-profit and the only independent health system in Texas. Located in an outer suburb southwest of Houston, serving Fort Bend County and the surrounding region. OBMC provides care for all ages and proudly offer “no-wait ER services”. These are Lev 3 and Lev 4 ER with most medical specialists represented. OBMC has two hospital ERs located in Richmond, TX and one ER in Wharton, TX. Group requires cross credentials at all three hospitals to extend greater scheduling flexibility. The 2 ERs in Richmond schedule 12-hour shifts from 7 to 7 and the Wharton campus schedules 24-hour shifts.

OakBend is home to the only No Wait Hospital Emergency Room in the Greater Houston Area. OakBend Medical Center’s three Emergency Care Centers feature physicians with advanced training in trauma life support skills and nurses with advanced training in trauma nursing core curriculum and pediatric care. The dedicated nursing staff is credentialed in ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC. The Emergency Care Centers are affiliated with local nursing schools to provide clinical rotations for RN and EMT students of all levels. Their air ambulance has transfer agreements in place with several Texas Medical Center hospitals for the care of severely injured trauma patients and pediatric patients.
