Uniquely traditional ED Practice 1 hour SW of Houston

Now hiring full-time or part-time Emergency Medicine physicians for OakBend Medical Center's (OBMC) ER in Wharton, TX.  This ER is one of three hospitals with OakBend Medical Center (OBMC), the only independent health system in Texas which ensures physicians the practice support best suited for area’s patient care.  This OBMC commitment, aligned with the IES Physician-owned and managed ER group, unincumbered by outside investors, makes for the ultimate model to achieve excellence in healthcare.

OBMC has two (2) additional hospital-based ED’s in Richmond, which are a busier, and schedule 12 hour shifts. The IES ED Group cross credentials at all three ERs to provide greater flexibility and options; preferences may be accomodated at preferred site but group requires some degree of flexibility.  Hourly rates vary slightly between three sites.  OBMC provides care for all ages and proudly offer “no-wait ER services”.  This is a Lev IV designated ED.

  • 9,500 Patients per year
  • 26 Patients/ day (1.1 /hr)-15% admissions rate
  • 6-bed ED
  • Physician shifts: 24 hours – single physician coverage
  • 40 Bed Hospital
  • Full labs, Xray, CT, US, POCUS

  • 45 patients per day (2 Pts./hour) - 15% admissions rate

  • APP Coverage 56 hours/week (Noon to 8PM)

  • Full labs on site; Xray, CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy, US, POCUS

OBMC Williams Way Campus 

  • 11,300 patients per year
  • 31 patients per day (1.8 Pts./hour); 15% admissions rate
  • 8 bed ED - Single physician coverage – shifts: 7A -7P; 7P-7A
  • 57 Bed Hospital
  • Full lab on site; XRAY, CT, US, POCUS
