Lead Psychiatrist Opportunity at Rusk State Hospital

Rusk State Hospital is seeking a dedicated Lead Psychiatrist to provide advanced psychiatric care under the supervision of the SH Medical Director. As the Lead Psychiatrist, you will:

  • Direct, oversee, and conduct patient examinations and diagnoses
  • Administer psychiatric treatments, medications, and specialized procedures
  • Lead the patient's recovery team and guide treatment plans
  • Review patient records and collaborate with the recovery team for effective treatment

Additionally, you will:

  • Participate in committees and performance improvement activities
  • Conduct psychiatric clinics and reviews
  • Collaborate with medical disciplines for comprehensive patient care
  • Stay updated on research for psychiatric and behavioral health treatments

Key responsibilities also include:

  • Developing and implementing psychiatric recovery plans
  • Reviewing system data for quality care
  • Maintaining communication with medical staff for continuity of services
  • Providing staff guidance, training, and supervision
