UF Health Department of Medicine, an NCI-Designated Cancer Center and nationally recognized academic institution, is seeking Board Certified / Board Eligible Hematologists to join our growing Division of Hematology & Oncology. We are currently recruiting for two faculty roles:

  • Clinical Benign Hematologist – Combination of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities

  • Hematology Hospitalist – Inpatient only (flexible scheduling available)

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, academic tertiary care environment serving patients with a wide range of hematologic conditions while teaching and mentoring the next generation of clinicians.

Position Highlights

  • Practice Setting: Academic, primarily clinical faculty role
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM (8 clinic half-days + 30 inpatient days per year)
  • Patient Volume: ~14–16 patients per day in clinic; 10–15 inpatient consults per day
  • Weekday / Weekend Call: 6 weekends per year and 6 weeks per year; Fellows handle first call
  • Team: 29 faculty physicians (6 hematology only) and 13 APPs (4 heme only)
  • EMR: Epic (inpatient and outpatient)
  • Procedures: Bone marrow biopsy
  • Hospital: UF Health Shands Hospital – 1,149 licensed beds, 1,500+ medical staff physicians

Position Requirements:

  • MD or DO
  • Florida Medical License (or ability to obtain)
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Hematology (ABIM or equivalent)
