On-Call: Phone call only, in a rotation every 10 weeks for a week at a time. 24/7/365. First line nurse led call service over nights and weekends.

Leadership and Administrative Responsibilities (20hrs/week)
- Monitor and evaluate performances by tracking provider access, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and collaborating with knownwell teammates to ensure sufficient clinic staffing.
- Representing the rights of both providers and patients to ensure they are all treated with respect and dignity.
- Provide clinical leadership and support by mentoring and coaching clinical staff, ensuring that they are up-to-date on the latest medical advancements and practices.
- Drive clinical initiatives by leading the development and implementation of new clinical programs, policies, and procedures to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Build relationships with providers and stakeholders by establishing strong relationships with physicians and advanced practice clinicians.
- Participate in educational sessions and presentations to local healthcare professionals about the practice's services and benefits.
- Attend networking events, medical conferences and community health fairs to increase visibility and create referral opportunities.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to create promotional materials and campaigns that highlight the practice's unique offerings and advantages.
Clinical Responsibilities (20 patient-facing hrs/week)
Practice exceptional medicine within knownwell
- See adults ages 16+ for primary care and metabolic health
- See pediatric patients ages 12+ for metabolic health only, if appropriately licensed and experienced.
- Remote patient care dependent upon clinic needs.
- Remote care using audio and visual technology to complete patient examinations, evaluation, assessments, diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Embodies the knownwell mission and values of patient inclusivity in how you deliver care.
- Coordinates with the broader care team to ensure the patient has the support they need.
- Documents as necessary to ensure accurate billing, including review of remote patient monitoring data.
- Communicates with patients in a timely manner through our portal for questions and concerns that have been pre-screened to necessitate a clinician response.
- Ensure patients feel known well.
- Ensure your patient panel is open to any individual, regardless of their current health status and comorbidities.
- Listen to the aspirations of the patient and ensure care is tailored to the patient’s unique health journey.
- Provide an environment in which patients feel comfortable and free from judgment.
- Offer exceptional encouragement as patients reach their goals.
- Coordinate across the collaborative care team.
- Escalate any concerns to your dedicated site leadership team.
- Provide clinical guidance to advance practice clinicians, medical assistants, and nursing teams as assigned.
- Stay current with licensure and appropriate re-certifications.
- Willingness to flex clinical or administrative time based upon patient or organizational needs.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
- Board certification in Family Practice or Internal Medicine.
- Certification with American Board of Obesity Medicine recommended but not required.
- You have an active, unrestricted license to practice in Texas.
- Minimum of 5 years of in person or remote clinical experience practicing as a physician outside of residency or fellowship training.
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership overseeing clinicians (MD/DO/NP/PA) in ambulatory setting.
- Willingness to obtain additional licensures if needed based upon business needs.
- Valid DEA required with no restrictions and prescribing authority (per state practice regulation).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications recommended but not required.
- BLS certification
- Clinical experience in an ambulatory care setting, family or internal medicine; experience in chronic condition management and weight management preferred.
- If no formal training in weight management, willingness to participate in knownwell clinical education and training plan for weight management and/or pursue ABOM certification.
- Willing to supervise Advanced Practice Clinician(s) as deemed necessary and appropriate by the practice.
- Abide by state specific rules and regulations as a collaborative physician.
- Experience networking and promoting self and the practice through individual and group outreach campaigns.
