Job Description

Vascular Neurologist or Stroke Specialist

Temple, Texas 

Baylor Scott & White Health is recruiting a fellowship trained, BC/BE Vascular Neurologist to join an outstanding team of Stroke Specialists in Temple, Texas. 

Position Highlights

• Attractive average 7 days on/off schedule, including a mix of inpatient stroke consult service, tele-neurology coverage, and clinic days.

• The tele-neurologist on call provides night coverage and shifts are 12 hours.

• Academic opportunities are available to teach medical students and residents.

• Inpatient consult service is a teaching service with resident coverage and rotating medical students.

• Join a group of 4 local vascular neurologists in a growing stroke program.

• Become part of a larger neurohospitalist group providing tele-neurology coverage throughout central and north Texas.

• More than 30 stroke beds managed by hospitalists with neurology consultants.

• 20 neurointensive care beds, managed by board certified neurointensivists with stroke neurology consultants.

• Temple Memorial is the main hospital where stroke services are provided and serves as the hub for 10 regional hospitals throughout Central Texas

• Academic affiliation with Baylor College of Medicine – Temple Campus

• Active ACGME approved neurology residency program

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctorate Degree in Medicine
  • Licensed to Practice Medicine in the state of Texas by the Texas Medical Board
  • Where applicable, the employee must be board certified in their specialty. Alternatively, they must purposefully pursue board certification as defined by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties or the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists.
  • Completion of fellowship training or experience in Headache Medicine is required.
