Lead Psychiatrist Opportunity at Big Spring State Hospital

We are seeking a Lead Psychiatrist to join our team at Big Spring State Hospital. In this role, you will perform advanced psychiatric work under the supervision of the SH Medical Director. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Directing, overseeing, and conducting patient examinations and diagnoses
  • Administering psychiatric treatment and medication
  • Leading the patient's recovery team
  • Reviewing patient records and progress
  • Participating in committees and performance improvement activities

You will also be involved in developing and implementing psychiatric recovery plans, collaborating with medical disciplines, and ensuring quality psychiatric care. Additionally, you will provide staff guidance, training, and participate in mandatory training sessions.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of general medicine and psychiatry
  • Skills in patient care, treatment, and psychiatric research
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
