Lead Psychiatrist Opportunity at Rusk State Hospital

Join our team at Rusk State Hospital as a Lead Psychiatrist where you will play a vital role in providing high-quality psychiatric care to our patients. Reporting directly to the State Hospital Medical Director, you will conduct advanced psychiatric assessments, diagnose, and treat patients while administering specialized treatments and procedures. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing individualized psychiatric recovery plans
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Participating in performance improvement activities and committees
  • Reviewing and analyzing system data to drive necessary changes for optimal care
  • Leading discussions to inform and create buy-in for improvements

In addition to your clinical duties, you will also be involved in:

  • Participating in mandatory trainings and committees to uphold quality care standards
  • Maintaining open communication with medical staff for seamless service continuity
  • Providing leadership in the area of Psychiatric Services to ensure compliance with regulations

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Strong knowledge and skills in general medicine and psychiatry
  • Ability to develop and document person-centered care plans
  • Experience in treating patients with psychiatric disorders in an in-patient setting
  • Proficiency in using electronic healthcare systems and Microsoft Office

If you are a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) with a Texas medical license and board certification in Psychiatry, we invite you to apply.
