Seattle Children’s is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Pediatric Cardiologist to join our growing practice based in Tacoma, Washington. Our dedicated team—including providers, RNs, sonographers, and administrative staff—live and work in the community, delivering exceptional cardiac care and creating positive patient experiences for children and families across the South Sound region.
The practice is located in Tacoma, with outreach to surrounding communities. It is primarily outpatient practice but includes inpatient consultation at several regional hospitals. As part of Seattle Children’s Heart Center, our providers are fully integrated into a multidisciplinary team, with 24/7 access to a broad network of pediatric subspecialists—ranging from prenatal cardiology to advanced care for adolescents and young adults.
This regional cardiology position offers the best of both worlds: the autonomy and deep community engagement of a local practice, combined with the robust support, resources, and collaboration of a nationally recognized academic medical center. The role offers variety, including opportunities in fetal cardiology, community outreach, and the chance to help shape and grow a dynamic pediatric cardiology program in the South Sound area.
Compensation: $321,066-346,035 annually
Required Education and ExperienceMD Degree. Board eligibility or certification in Pediatrics by the American Academy of Pediatrics and/or specialty as applicable. Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges at Seattle Children’s and other sites as applicable.
Required Credentials
Licensed as a Physician in the State of Washington or State within WAMI region. Federal DEA Registration. Prior to start of employment, must obtain, and maintain in good standing, medical or allied health professional staff privileges that are not limited, revoked, suspended, conditioned, or probationary, except for normal probationary periods due to initial appointment. All medical and allied health professional staff members are provisional for the first year. Any and all medical or allied health professional staff privileges at Children's will terminate automatically upon the termination of the individual's employment at Children's. Termination of employment does not prohibit the individual from seeking medical or allied health professional staff privileges at Children’s as a non-employee in any category for which the individual qualifies. Questions regarding medical or allied health professional staff privileges may be directed to Medical Staff Services.

Salary Information
This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.

What is Seattle Children’s South Sound Cardiology?
Seattle Children’s South Sound Cardiology Clinics provide care for newborns, children and teens in the South Puget Sound region. We also see pregnant people whose developing baby may have a heart condition. The main office is in Tacoma. The doctors also see patients in Centralia, Federal Way, Olympia and Silverdale.
The heart doctors (cardiologists) in the South Sound Cardiology Clinics are part of Seattle Children’s Heart Center. The Heart Center team offers the full range of heart care, from prenatal consultation to heart surgery to heart care for young adults.
We believe that referring community providers and Seattle Children’s providers are partners in the care of South Sound youth.

- Full spectrum of cardiology care — Our South Sound experts provide timely access to all cardiac services. We will work closely with you and your child’s referring provider to create a treatment plan that is right for your child.
- Seattle Children's South Sound Cardiology is accredited through the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) in both transthoracic and fetal echocardiography.
Services We Provide
We provide general heart care services and consultation for infants, children and young adults, along with these services:
- Care for pregnant people with fetal cardiac concerns
- Echocardiograms, including fetal echocardiograms (most locations) by our registered pediatric sonographers (IAC accredited)
- Electrocardiograms (ECGs or EKGs)
- Evaluation, monitoring and treatment for rhythm disturbances
- Newborn care
- Transitional care for young adults, including referral to an adult heart doctor
If needed, your child will have access to the complete range of heart services through the Heart Center’s clinics at the hospital campus in Seattle.
