Rochester Regional Health is seeking an experienced and collaborative General Surgeon to join our team, providing clinical coverage at both Rochester General Hospital and Unity Hospital. In this role, you will help develop and expand a broad-based general surgery practice with a strong emphasis on elective procedures. Responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient surgical care, admissions, consultative services — including support in the Emergency Department as needed — and office-based management of new and follow-up patients. We are looking for a collaborative, clinically excellent physician who is passionate about patient care and shaping the future of surgical training.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

• Provide general surgical services, including consultative coverage in the Emergency Department (ED), and inpatient units throughout the hospital.
• General Surgery call 1:4
• Maintain prompt offsite availability when on call (responding within 20 minutes).
• Provide structured mentorship and enhance the training experience for PAs and midlevel providers.

Administrative Oversight

• Assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of PA education programs.
• Ensure programs align with institutional goals and meet regulatory and accreditation standards

What You Bring

• Medical Degree (MD or DO) with Board Certification or Eligibility in General Surgery
• Eligible for New York State Medical Licensure
• Strong clinical expertise in general surgery and trauma care
• Demonstrated interest or experience in teaching and mentoring
