Are you a skilled Gastroenterologist looking to make a meaningful impact while enjoying the scenic beauty of Petoskey? We are seeking an experienced, dedicated Locum Physician to provide exceptional GI services at McLaren Northern. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your expertise in a supportive hospital setting, offering flexible open dates and competitive compensation.

In this vital role, you will perform outpatient and inpatient endoscopies, including ERCP procedures, in a collaborative environment supported by skilled staff, including physicians and APPs. The schedule follows a Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:30 pm format, with no night or weekend calls required. You will rotate through clinics with a patient load of approximately 18 outpatient and 20 inpatient scopes daily, contributing to comprehensive patient care within a top-tier facility equipped with onsite lab, X-ray, and EMR systems.

Required Skills:

• Valid medical license and board certification in Gastroenterology
• Proven experience in performing ERCP procedures
• Strong diagnostic and procedural skills
• Ability to work effectively within a hospital setting
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Nice to Have Skills:

• Prior locum or temporary staffing experience
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR platform
• Additional procedural certifications or subspecialty training

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Medical degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 3 years of GI practice experience
• Prior experience with endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and advanced therapeutic procedures is a plus

Other Requirements:

• Availability for open dates listed; preference for flexibility
• Must adhere to all hospital protocols and safety standards
• Provider will utilize DocTime for clock-in/out; no paper timesheets
• Travel, licensure, and certification expenses covered or reimbursed per policy
• No third-party lodging bookings; standard mileage and fuel expenses capped at $150

Compensation:

• Competitive hourly rate (to be discussed upon application) for hours worked 7 am – 5 pm
• Orientation rate at half the hourly rate
• 1.5x pay for holiday coverage
• Weekly pay via direct deposit
