Join Our Team as a Gastroenterology Physician – Make a Difference in Patient Care
Are you a dedicated Gastroenterology Physician seeking a rewarding opportunity to utilize your skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? We invite qualified candidates to join our esteemed team for comprehensive 24-hour call coverage across diverse inpatient settings. This role offers an excellent chance to impact patient outcomes at a Level 3 trauma center, providing specialized care in gastrointestinal emergencies and procedures.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide 24-hour inpatient gastroenterology coverage, floating between two sister facilities.
- Support the care of patients with GI bleeds, abdominal pain, food bolus, elevated liver enzymes, and other urgent conditions.
- Perform advanced procedures including ERCP in both the Endo Suite and Main OR.
- Collaborate with support staff and work alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient care.
- Rounding, evaluating critical cases, and managing a patient volume of approximately 8 patients daily.
- Maintain documentation within the Epic EMR system.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Board Certification in Gastroenterology (BC required).
- Active State Medical License in Tennessee.
- Proficiency in ERCP procedures.
- DEA certification.
- BLS certification.
- Clean background check.
- Willingness to obtain necessary licensure and privileges within 90 days.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience working in trauma centers.
- Additional certifications relevant to gastroenterology or emergency procedures.
- Fluency in multiple languages.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-residency experience in inpatient gastroenterology.
- Proven expertise in ERCP procedures.
Other Requirements:
- Willing to work 24-hour shifts, with compensation structure based on flat-rate daily pay and holiday rates.
- Availability for multiple shifts, including holidays recognized by law.
- Vaccination exemptions accepted with proper documentation.
- All travel expenses (airfare, lodging, rental car, mileage) covered when applicable.
- Orientation rate of $250/hour.
