Required Skills:
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in the United States
  • Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or related general medicine specialties
  • Proven experience conducting clinical assessments, preferably with exposure to Compensation & Pension exams
  • Strong interview and physical assessment skills, including range of motion and muscle strength testing
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Prior experience working with Veteran populations or in government healthcare settings
  • Familiarity with VA protocols and documentation standards
  • Certification in specific areas such as DMA or other relevant credentials
  • Ability to efficiently navigate clinical documentation and reporting systems
  • Bilingual language skills to serve diverse veteran communities

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical practice, with experience in general internal medicine or family medicine
  • Experience in performing compensation and pension examinations or similar assessments

Other Requirements:
  • Own office location in Coeburn, VA, Covington, VA, Hillsville, VA, or Charlottesville, VA (local candidates preferred)
  • Willingness to work on a PRN basis, including multiple days per week as specified
  • Ability to perform both full (8-hour) and half-day (4-hour) shifts
  • Quick credentialing and onboarding process
  • Compliance with all applicable state, federal, and local laws regarding licensure and practice
  • Willingness to complete required training and perform initial exams to qualify for a one-time bonus of $650

This role offers competitive hourly pay of $624.00, with flat-rate options for half-day ($800) and full-day ($1,600) shifts, along with travel and other reimbursements when applicable.
