Required Skills:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Active, unrestricted medical license in the United States
- Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or related general medicine specialties
- Proven experience conducting clinical assessments, preferably with exposure to Compensation & Pension exams
- Strong interview and physical assessment skills, including range of motion and muscle strength testing
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience working with Veteran populations or in government healthcare settings
- Familiarity with VA protocols and documentation standards
- Certification in specific areas such as DMA or other relevant credentials
- Ability to efficiently navigate clinical documentation and reporting systems
- Bilingual language skills to serve diverse veteran communities
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree from an accredited medical school
- Minimum of 2 years clinical practice, with experience in general internal medicine or family medicine
- Experience in performing compensation and pension examinations or similar assessments
Other Requirements:
- Own office location in Coeburn, VA, Covington, VA, Hillsville, VA, or Charlottesville, VA (local candidates preferred)
- Willingness to work on a PRN basis, including multiple days per week as specified
- Ability to perform both full (8-hour) and half-day (4-hour) shifts
- Quick credentialing and onboarding process
- Compliance with all applicable state, federal, and local laws regarding licensure and practice
- Willingness to complete required training and perform initial exams to qualify for a one-time bonus of $650
This role offers competitive hourly pay of $624.00, with flat-rate options for half-day ($800) and full-day ($1,600) shifts, along with travel and other reimbursements when applicable.
