VHS is seeking dedicated and skilled General Medicine Providers to support our nation's Veterans through vital Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments nationwide. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to public service while enjoying flexible scheduling and competitive pay. As a key member of our team, you will perform interview-based exams, physical assessments, and provide critical support to the veteran community, all within a flexible PRN framework.
Required Skills:
- Valid medical license in your state
- Proven experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or related areas of general medicine
- Ability to perform interview-based assessments with some physical testing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Capable of working independently with utmost professionalism
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams or military veteran assessments
- Prior certification or training related to veteran health evaluations
- Proficiency in diagnostic reading and administrative follow-up tasks
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree (MD or DO)
- Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience in general medicine
- Familiarity with veteran healthcare needs and assessment protocols
Other Requirements:
- Own office location within a 50-mile radius of designated cities
- Willingness to work on an PRN basis with flexible hours (half-day or full-day shifts)
- Quick credentialing and onboarding process
- Availability for exams in various Missouri locations, including Cape Girardeau, St. Joseph, Mountain Grove, Butler, Farmington, Licking, Sedalia, Poplar Bluff, Rolla, St Louis, and Kennett
- Ability to perform one-time non-treatment exams, with follow-up administrative work as required
- No requirements for travel reimbursement beyond local travel
