Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - OB Hospitalist in Worcester, MA
Are you a dedicated OB Hospitalist seeking a rewarding opportunity to make a difference? We invite experienced physicians to provide exceptional obstetric and gynecological care at our esteemed facility in Worcester. This role offers a unique blend of challenging cases, collaborative team support, and flexible scheduling — perfect for professionals committed to excellence in women's health.
In this position, you will be pivotal in delivering comprehensive GYN coverage, managing emergency GYN cases, and supporting a level 2 NICU. You will serve as a first assist, working closely with hospital staff and midwives to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The role also involves backup responsibilities for midwives and hospitalists, with MFM specialists available on-site 4 out of 5 days, offering courtesy privileges. EMR systems utilized include PBAR and Cerner, facilitating efficient documentation and coordination.
Required Skills:
- Valid medical license to practice in Massachusetts
- Board Certified or Eligible in OB/GYN
- Proven experience in OB hospitalist duties, including emergency GYN cases
- Exceptional clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with high-risk pregnancies and NICU support
- Prior work in hospitalist settings or emergency OB care
- familiarity with PBAR and Cerner EMR systems
- Additional certifications such as Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years’ post-residency hospitalist or obstetrics practice
- Prior experience working in a level 2 NICU environment
Other Requirements:
- Availability to work 12 or 24 shifts, including nights and weekends
- Willingness to travel as needed for coverage
- Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Compliance with all hospital, state, and federal regulations
