About the Division of Pediatric Pathology

The Division of Pathology at Children’s Wisconsin provides comprehensive subspecialized pediatric diagnostic services through CAP-accredited laboratories. Our teams perform advanced testing across chemistry, microbiology, molecular diagnostics, hematology, and histology—from metabolic and pharmacogenetic analyses to flow cytometry for leukemias and lymphomas, rapid thromboelastography, and expert muscle and nerve biopsy evaluation. Together, we perform over one million tests annually, supporting the highest level of pediatric care.

Faculty also engage in academic excellence, training medical students, AP/CP residents, and fellows through an ACGME-accredited pediatric pathology fellowship, while leading key research resources, including the histology, imaging, and biobank cores of the Children’s Research Institute. This environment enables faculty to strike a balance between impactful clinical practice, education, research, and innovation, thereby advancing pediatric health both locally and globally.
