  • Description: Summary: Mercy Medical Center is looking for Locum Pediatric Call Coverage for dates listed below. RATE CAPS FOR SUBMISSION: Malpractice – Must be included in rates. Orientation – 142.50 - half the hourly/callback rate kicks in after 8 hours. “Per hour of orientation or training beyond 8 hours” On Call Daily – 3500 - “Per 24 hours to include 4 hours gratis 24 Hour Holiday Call Rate - 5250 - “Per 24 hours to include 4 hours gratis Call Back – 285 – “Per hour of patient contact hours after gratis hours are completed gratis prorate to MSA terms.” Holiday Call Back – 427.50 – “Per holiday hour of patient contact hours after gratis hours are completed gratis prorate to MSA terms.”24h Call rate range will depend on gratis and callback rate submitted Dates of coverage: 1/30- 4 hour orientation in the AM2/2am-2/8am Ongoing coverage in 2026 Schedule: 24hr call with 8 hrs rounding Facility Location: 2700 NW Stewart Parkway Roseburg OR 97471 Average Callback: 8.44 weekdays 6.49 weekends Setting: Inpatient Level II nursery Level I nursery ED Family Birth Duties: Attending Physician for Inpatient Peds and ED Consults. Rounding on inpatient peds and newborns in Family Birth Center. Stabilize and transfer critical patients. FTE: 1.0 Required Procedures: Lumbar puncture intubations umbilical lines neonatal resuscitation EMR: Patient Keeper interface with Meditech Support Staff: Reason for Coverage: Coverage until fulltime provider is secured. Deal breakers: Must have 2 in 24 mo: endotracheal intubations/vent mgmt. newborns spinal tap/lumbar puncture umbilical line placement. Must be able to perform IVIG. Circumcisions performed: no circumcisions performed at this site. Requested from site: Please include clinical activity on CV Additional Details / Questions Answered by Facility:18 bed ward but the bulk of work will be in Level 2 nurseryNot required to be present for births just to examine and treat neos. Call back is minimal6 Bed Peds Unit - Average Census of 2 patients per day 4-6 newborns 0-1 pediatric avg. per day2-4 newborns lt1 pediatric. avg. admits Call requirements?7am-7am 24 hours per calendar day. # of hours spent in-house varies depending on census and acuity on average 5-6 hours on clinical care per day. Can opt to spend extra time teaching students/residents. When rounds/discharges are finished we take call with a 15-minute in-person response time for emergencies such as neonatal resuscitations. ED calls for consults and admissions don’t have as strict of a turnaround time. Are circumcisions required? No not performed at this facility. Are the pediatric hospitalists required to attend every delivery or just high risk? Just high risk- RTs along with an RN attend high-risk deliveries and are well trained in NRP. We are very rarely asked to attend high-risk deliveries ~1-2x/month but will be called emergently if the baby is not responding to initial resuscitation with RN/RT or if the baby needs persistent CPAP etc. outside of the delivery room. Patients per day seen on the pediatric Med/Surg floor? Varies generally 0-4. Average 1-2 during respiratory season. Open or closed Pediatric ICU? We don’t have an in-house pediatric ICU but we do have a level 2 nursery where we treat and stabilize. Critical patients are stabilized and transferred. Neonatology support? PeaceHealth in Eugene OR is available for phone consults and transfers. The transfer team has dedicated NICU staff who will help further stabilize the baby as-needed before transporting to Eugene. Travel Preferences: Preferred Lodging: Preferred hotels-Hampton Inn Air Travel: Local no flights? If required the two closest airports are in Eugene OR60 miles away and Medford OR97miles away Please detail any anticipated travel exceptions for example a dietary restriction necessitating specific lodging situations. Travel exception requests will be denied if this information is not part of the provider presentation. Please also indicate the city where provider will be traveling from in the travel section of the provider submission. Credentialing Information: Credentialing with other facilities? Billing enrollment - Is this position providing services in lieu of an existing enrolled provider for a period of 60 days or less?
