Responsibilities

Ascension St. Vincent Evansville is looking for a Surgeon for our Colorectal Surgery department.

 

Position Highlights:

  • Newly renovated, modern outpatient clinic located near main hospital campus
  • Surgeries performed at both Ascension St. Vincent Evansville and our ambulatory surgery center, Surgicare
  • Opportunity for physician membership in Surgicare

    • Two year salary guarantee
    • RVU production rates starting year three

Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical services to patients in an assigned area.
  • Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
  • Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
  • Accept patient referrals from other physicians. Act as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
  • Participate in academic programs (eg medical education and research) as requested.
  • Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local credentialing office.
  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Verified by local credentialing office. 

Education:

  •  Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
