Behavioral Health Physician - Consult Liaison

Join Sentara Health s interdisciplinary Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry team, providing expert psychiatric care to medically complex and emergent patients across Sentara s facilities. You ll work closely with ED, medical, and surgical teams, supported by licensed therapists, behavioral health navigators, and a systemwide psychiatric response network.

Practice Highlights

• Primary assignment at Sentara Obici Hospital
• Schedule: M-F, 8a-5p
• Daily co-management of ED behavioral health patients
• Inpatient consults on behavioral, medical, and surgical units
• Virtual consult support to lower-volume facilities
• Strong interdisciplinary support: APPs, therapists, navigators, case managers

Key Responsibilities

• Psychiatric consultation for complex medical and co-occurring conditions
• Diagnostic evaluation and treatment planning
• Medication management and crisis intervention
• Collaborative, team-based care across hospital services
• Supervision of APPs and students as needed
