Opportunity Details

The Radiation Oncology Physician provides comprehensive radiation therapy services to patients within a hospital-based community Radiation Oncology Center. The physician is responsible for evaluating, planning, and managing radiation treatment for cancer patients using advanced technology and modalities. This position functions as a solo practitioner supported by a dedicated care team and state-of-the-art equipment to deliver exceptional, compassionate cancer care.

Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide consultation, simulation, planning, and delivery of radiation therapy for patients requiring treatment.
  • Utilize a full range of treatment modalities, including IMRT, SBRT, SRS, 3D, and 2D external beam therapy.
  • Oversee all aspects of radiation therapy, ensuring accurate dose delivery and patient safety.
  • Collaborate with a full-time physicist, APRN, RN, and other multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care and optimize treatment outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation using ARIA EMR.
  • Participate in rotating call coverage shared with the APRN.
  • Manage an average of 15–20 patients per day while maintaining high standards of quality and compassion.
  • Promote continuous quality improvement and compliance with all applicable regulatory standards.
  • Engage in patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and care plans.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Proficiency in radiation treatment planning and delivery techniques, including IMRT, SBRT, SRS, and 3D/2D external beam therapy.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary care team effectively.
  • Strong communication, clinical judgment, and patient education skills.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Experience practicing in a community or hospital-based oncology setting.
  • Familiarity with VARIAN TrueBeam, Philips CT Simulator, and ARIA EMR systems.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certification (or eligibility) in Radiation Oncology by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
  • New graduates and experienced Radiation Oncologists are welcome to apply.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Two or more years of post-residency experience in a hospital-based or community oncology program.

REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Current and unrestricted license (or eligibility) to practice medicine in the State of Kansas.
  • Board Certification (or Board Eligibility) in Radiation Oncology by the ACR.
