How you’ll make an impact in this role

Ascension Via Christi is looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our hospitalist team in Manhattan, Kansas. 

Position Highlights:

• PRN night position with required minimum of 3 shifts per month and 2 weekends per quarter.
• Hospital clinical experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

• In collaboration with a physician, provides for the expansion of individualized primary healthcare services by diagnosing and treating certain acute or chronic health conditions.
• Obtain patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic studies. Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
• Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral toother healthcare providers or community resources.
• Counsel and educate patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
• Document delivery of health care and processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network policy.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certified Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing preferred.

Education:

• Master's degree of Nursing required.
