Key Highlights
- Level I Trauma Center (Adult and Pediatric); approximately 130,000 emergency visits, 5,300 trauma activations, and 2,500 Surgical ICU admissions annually
- Robust Acute Care Surgery practice with dedicated trauma day/night coverage
- Surgical intensivist responsibilities across transplant, general surgery, surgical oncology, neurosurgery, and other high-acuity subspecialty patients
- Three Surgical ICUs with a total of 40 beds located on the University Campus

- Academic appointment commensurate with experience and training through UMass Chan Medical School
- Division expansion from 7 to 8 surgeons in response to increasing trauma volume

Qualifications
- Board Certified/Board Eligible; fellowship training in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care required
- Interest in academic medicine, including teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers
- Interest in clinical, quality, simulation, and injury prevention research
- MD or DO degree and qualify for medical Massachusetts license
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered clinical care
- Two or more years of experience preferred
