Burn Surgeon or Acute Care Surgeon with Burn Training

MetroHealth – Case Western Reserve University

Burn Surgeon or Acute Care Surgeon with Burn Training

The Department of Surgery at the MetroHealth System in Cleveland, Ohio, is accepting applications for a full-time academic surgeon in the Division of Trauma, Critical Care, Burns and Acute Care Surgery.  Successful candidates should be board-certified/eligible in General Surgery and have additional qualifications in Burn Care.  Certification/Eligibility in Critical Care is strongly preferred. The candidate will have opportunity to advance into leadership role in the burn unit if desired with protected administrative time.

We are seeking a full-time faculty commitment from surgeons interested in providing high quality care to our patients and who have a strong interest in teaching.  We have a dedicated 8-bed burn unit with plans to expand to 12 beds in the future and a busy burn clinic with a long history of leadership in burn care in the region.  Ideally the candidate will be interested in practicing mainly in burn care (75-100% of their clinical time), however there is opportunity in other aspects of acute care surgery including trauma/emergency general surgery call and surgical critical care if desired but not required. Our group prides itself on how well we work together to provide care for our patients.  We are looking for team players who are interested in developing their academic career and leadership skills.

The MetroHealth System is a nationally recognized academic medical center affiliated with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.  All active staff in the Department of Surgery hold academic appointments at Case Western Reserve University and an appointment commensurate with the candidate’s academic record will be offered.  The main campus hospital is an ACS verified Level I adult trauma, Level II pediatric trauma, and Level I burn center with over 12,000 trauma activations across the system, with over 2000 trauma admissions to our Level I center and over 200 burn admissions.

In employment, as in education, Case Western Reserve University is committed to Equal Opportunity and World Class Diversity. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
