Join our leading healthcare team as an Internal Medicine - Hematology and Oncology Specialist, and make a meaningful impact on patient lives while advancing your professional career. We are seeking dedicated, highly skilled physicians to provide exceptional care within a reputable, accredited Cancer Center that integrates cutting-edge cancer treatments and supportive services. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative environment that includes a dedicated chemo suite, weekly tumor boards, clinical trials, and a multidisciplinary team committed to patient-centered care. With numerous available dates throughout 2026, you will have the flexibility to shape your schedule, including potential weekend call duties, while delivering vital oncology and hematology services to a diverse patient population.
Key responsibilities include managing a patient panel of approximately 17 individuals, providing new patient consultations and follow-up care, and participating in collaborative tumor boards and research activities. Support staff includes medical assistants and registered nurses, with an EMR system (Mosiaq) facilitating seamless documentation and communication. The position involves responding to RN questions during disease management, patient calls regarding chemotherapy, and minimal ED consults.
Required Skills:
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Hematology and Oncology
- Strong clinical expertise in managing cancer and blood disorders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to a multidisciplinary team environment
- Proficiency in EMR systems, preferably Mosiaq
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with clinical trials and research protocols
- Prior background working within COC-accredited cancer centers
- Knowledge of pediatric hematology-oncology (if applicable)
- Experience with chemotherapy management and patient education
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Completion of relevant residency and fellowship programs
- At least 2 years of oncology/hematology clinical experience
Other Requirements:
- Valid medical license for practice
- Availability for scheduled full-time coverage, approximately 40 hours/week
- Willingness to participate in weekend call duties (24-hour call sharing)
- Compliance with all credentialing and certification requirements
- Willingness to engage in ongoing clinical education and research activities
