Job Summary and Responsibilities

CHI Health Clinic and Creighton University School of Medicine are recruiting a Division Chief of Cardiothoracic Anesthesia to be part of our vibrant program and expand our clinical enterprise, research, and educational activities in Omaha, Nebraska.

We seek a Division Chief who has a demonstrated commitment to steady innovative clinical practice growth, education and science, the ability to lead a diverse group and work collaboratively with hospital partners, success in promoting education and the ability to mentor young clinical and academic clinicians. Successful candidates must demonstrate exceptional leadership, administrative and organizational skills and have an MD or equivalent degree.

This person will:

  • Serve as a role model by espousing the traits of exemplary integrity and professionalism
  • Design integrated care protocols for cardiac, vascular, and thoracic cases
  • Assist in resident and medical student rotation development and teaching
  • Collaborate with serviceline leadership in areas or research, clinical protocols, and operational efficiencies to improve clinical outcomes
  • Promote excellence and innovation in patient care in accordance with the most recent scientific evidence and medical technology
  • Team of 18 FT physicians and 45 CRNAs (2 CVOR Anesthesiologists)
  • 391 bed - Level I Trauma Center
  • Academic Facility
  • Accreditation in process for Anesthesia residency program and SRNA program
  • Dedicated CVORs
  • Academic Appointment available from Creighton University School of Medicine
  • EPIC EMR
