Required Skills:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with active medical licensure in the state of Texas
- Board-certified or board-eligible in family medicine, internal medicine, or related fields
- Proven experience in general medicine, internal medicine, orthopedics, or compensation and pension exams
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to perform physical assessments including range of motion and muscle strength testing
- Comfort with interview-based evaluations and documentation
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience performing VA Compensation & Pension examinations
- Additional certifications such as DMA or medical examiner certifications
- Experience working independently in a private office setting
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Doctoral degree in medicine (MD or DO)
- Minimum of 2 years clinical or exam-based experience, especially in general medicine or veteran-focused assessments
Other Requirements:
- Own office located within 50 miles of the specified cities (Burlington, VT, and Rutland, VT) for respective coverage days
- Ability to work on a PRN basis, with flexible hours including half-day or full-day shifts
- Willingness to complete administrative tasks such as report submission and addendums
- Must be a local candidate, as travel is included in rates
- Availability to start on 02/13/2026
Compensation for this role is $624.00 per hour. The position offers a flat rate of $800 for half-day (4 hours or less) shifts and $1600 for full-day (5 hours or longer) shifts, with a one-time bonus of $650 upon successful completion of initial training and exams. The role includes comprehensive medical benefits (W-2), weekly pay via direct deposit, and paid sick time in accordance with applicable laws. Additional reimbursements for licensure, certification, travel, and other expenses may apply as relevant.
