Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is seeking a Per Diem Pediatric Hospitalist to join the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. This is an outstanding opportunity to practice academic pediatric hospital medicine within a collaborative, mission-driven environment while maintaining schedule flexibility.

Position Overview

The Per Diem Pediatric Hospitalist will:

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient care on pediatric inpatient units
  • Deliver care in well-newborn nurseries and same-day medical units
  • Mentor and supervise medical students and residents
  • Share call, weekend, and holiday coverage with other clinical faculty in the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Remain current with hospital and departmental policies and procedures

Academic & Scholarly Responsibilities

As part of the mission of the medical school, candidates will:

  • Engage in scholarly and outreach activities
  • Participate in undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education programs
  • Contribute to resident and student education
  • Collaborate on research initiatives as appropriate
  • Perform additional academic duties as assigned by the Chair of Pediatrics and the Division Director of Hospital Medicine, who will serve as mentor

Qualifications

  • Board Certified in Pediatrics
  • Board Eligible in Pediatric Hospital Medicine
  • Eligible for licensure in the State of New Jersey

Compensation

  • $120/hour – Weekdays
  • $150/hour – Weekends

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s educational background, skills, and professional experience.
